I firmly believe that regular training is critical to maintaining and further developing my skills as a medical writer and business owner.
European Medical Writers Association (EMWA)
I am an active member of EMWA and attend their excellent training conferences each year. I recently attained their continuous professional development certificate at Advanced level having completed workshops and assessed coursework on different aspects of medical writing. I am sub-editor of the freelance section of the EMWA quarterly journal, Medical Writing, and have had several articles published here. During the biannual EMWA conferences, I organise and co-host the Freelance Business Forum.
The Association of Independent Professionals and the Self Employed (IPSE)
I am a member of IPSE, the largest association of freelancers, contractors and consultants in the UK and Europe and across all sectors of industry and business.
Institute of Clinical Research (ICR)
I attend the annual Herts and Cambs Freelance Forum and the ICR GCP and Ethics training courses to keep up-to-date with the ever changing environment of clinical research in which I work.
